Using the Visitorly dashboard
Each heading below is a left-sidebar item. If you are stuck on a screen, open the matching section. The signed-in Setup Guide is the same path, with checkmarks.
Website switcher and dates
The sidebar website control picks which domain the charts use. Always confirm the name at the top of the page matches the site you are thinking about. Date fields (From / To) filter Overview, Events, Audience, Acquisition, and Reports. Real-Time ignores dates — it is only “right now.”
Setup Guide
Open Setup Guide while signed in. It walks plan → add site → install tracker → optional Google. Public, printable steps: Getting started and Install the tracker.
Overview
Home chart: users, page views, sessions, bounce, duration, and conversions from the Visitorly tracker (not from Google). Under Traffic Growth you can pin a day:
- Pick the date, Campaign or Deploy, type a short label, click Annotate.
- Wrong note? Click Remove on the chip. Numbers do not change.
Analysts, admins, and owners can edit notes. View Only seats can only read them.
Real-Time
Use this right after install. Open your live website, click a few pages, then watch Real-Time. It refreshes about every eight seconds while this tab is in front. If it stays empty, the tracker is not firing — go back to install troubleshooting. Ad blockers and the wrong domain (www vs non-www) are the usual causes.
Events
You do not paste extra JavaScript. Visitorly already records form submits, thank-you pages, file downloads, outbound links, mailto/tel, and 404s. On Events you can add a goal: a friendly name plus the event name Visitorly already uses (for example purchase). Remove a goal if you added the wrong one. Goals do not install new code.
Audience
Map and country list from the visitor’s network location. New visitors are first-time on your site; returning means the same browser came again. Empty map usually means the tracker is not installed yet.
Acquisition
Where people came from: direct, Google, social, referral, and AI chat tools when the referrer is known. Top Pages ranks tracker paths by page views in the selected range. Lower on the page: a plain-language comparison of Visitorly vs GA4 vs Search Console vs Clarity (only for sources you connected), and Search Console query → landing page journeys after you connect Google.
Ads
Facebook and Instagram ads for this website after you Connect Meta Ads. Each row is one ad: spend, clicks, CTR, plus site visits and Goals when the ad URL uses utm_campaign and utm_content. Ads Coach flags weak ads and can create a paused rewrite in Ads Manager. It never turns spend on by itself.
AI Insights
A written summary of metrics already in Visitorly, plus an optional Monday brief email. Full steps: AI Insights.
Portfolio
One table of every website you own or were invited to, for the same date range as the rest of the dashboard. Click a row to switch the rest of the dashboard to that site. Agencies use this instead of logging into each property separately. If a row is locked, that site’s owner plan is not Active.
Reports
Download HTML, PDF, CSV, or JSON for the selected dates, or create a passworded share link for a client. Details: Reports and share links.
Sites
Add the domain, copy snippets, download WordPress / GTM / npm files, save an optional CNAME, and download Export Events (JSON) (your data copy, not an installer). Install steps: Install the tracker. JSON export: below.
Export Events (JSON) — on the site card, click the export button. Admins and owners only. Use it for records or a GDPR request. You never paste this file into WordPress or GTM.
Team
Invite people instead of sharing a password. Roles, alerts, and tracker-down email: Team and alerts.
Integrations
Optional. Google: Connect Google. Meta: Connect Meta Ads. Clarity: Connect Clarity. The Visitorly tracker still works if you skip both.
API & Webhooks
Only if a developer or Zapier/Make scenario needs your numbers. API and webhooks.
Profile and Settings
Your name in the sidebar opens Profile (2FA, invoice, brand, notifications) and Settings (sign out). Full steps: Profile, password, 2FA, billing.
If you are stuck, pick the matching guide
